# How it Works

# Buying a card

<Steps>
  <Step title="Sign in">
    Sign in with X, Google or an email address. Your cards are tied to that
    account, which is how we know which ones are yours.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose an amount">
    Between $5 and $1,000. The card is loaded with exactly that amount.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pay from your wallet">
    A QR code appears with the exact amount. Scan it with any Solana wallet, or
    copy the address and send manually. Pay in **SOL** or **USDC**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Wait about a minute">
    The page follows your payment on its own: it confirms the transaction,
    converts it if you paid in SOL, and orders the card. You do not need to
    refresh.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Spend it">
    Your card number, expiry date and security code appear on screen and stay
    available in your account.
  </Step>

## Paying in SOL vs USDC

Both work. The difference is what happens to the price.

**USDC** is a dollar, so the amount you send is the amount you get. What the payment screen shows is what you pay.

**SOL** moves. We quote the SOL amount when you create the order and include a small buffer, because the price can drift between the moment you see the QR code and the moment your transaction lands. If SOL moves in your favour, the surplus stays on your order.

## If something goes wrong

Orders expire if no payment arrives in time. If you paid and the order did not complete, the payment is still recorded against your account — contact us with the order and we will resolve it. Do not send a second payment.

<Note>
  Your card details are never stored on your device. They are fetched fresh from
  the issuer each time you open the card, which is why you have to be signed in
  to see them.
